Starter: Use the
image before you to create a character. Who are they, how did they grow up,
what are their favorite hobbies, what is the scariest thing that has ever
happened to them, what was their favorite pet’s name, what was their favorite
subject in school, what are their siblings names, what are their dreams,
ambitions?
Example Play: Read and annotate them both. Annotate what you liked, and what you
could incorporate.
Answer the following questions for both:
1.
How did they create a back story for their play?
2.
Who is the chorus? How did they incorporate that
into a play in modern times?
3.
Did they invoke either pity or fear? Did they
achieve catharsis?
4.
What was the moral dilemma you were faced with?
5.
What did you notice about the form of the play?
You will need to replicate this form.

Two key arguments on your social issue:

Task: You will read two articles for each perspective of your
social issue. Your goal is to understand both sides, and to choose the side
your play will take. You will communicate this by writing a thesis on the
perspective your play will take on your given social issue.
Once you have this you need to come
write it on the board.
