Tasks for students:

As a group: (Use handout)
1.       First read the sections assigned above as a group (out load).
2.       Then discuss the questions provided on the other side of the paper.
During your discussion you should have one person taking notes that will be emailed to me with all members’ names on it.
3.       As a group chose 5 key ideas you want to share with the class.
As an Individual:
4.       Individually write a TEA paragraph that explains your position on one of the specific questions you discussed as a group.
T – Identifies the article in the UN charter and what it means
E – Evidence includes points in the discussion, specific language of the charter, or outside research
A – Your analysis: your arguments during the discussion and why it matters

If you finish early get a jump start on homework:
  1. Find a news article online that discusses the UN that you are interested in.
·         Summarize the article in a short paragraph.
·         What is interesting about it?

·         Include the source of your article
