Starter #10 (10mins):
Divide your paper into two sections. Label them male and female stereotypes. Generate as many stereotypes you can come up with. Include: roles at home and society, intelligence, what each are good at, what jobs they fill, who they have relationships with, etc. Really push what you know.
When you are done come up to the board and write 2 in each section. If one is already up there write a different one.

2.       What do men have to hide from the public?

  2. Are there only two gender roles or is it a spectrum?
  3. Why do we have gender issues in this country?
1.       Are gender stereotypes oK?
2.       When do they have a negative impact?

For the next 15 mins freely write on the questions below. Make sure to include evidence, actual ideas and data, from the videos.

Self-esteem is part of identity, how we see ourselves. So when doubt is pushed through media how does it affect you? How is what you think about yourself construct your identity?

1.       How has gender stereotypes influenced your identity?
2.       How can you include the ideas from this video in your essay on your identity?
